I loved the Thomas Covenant series when I was younger. Recently I tried to re-read the first book. Couldn't get on with it at all.
I was the opposite! I really struggled to read the original trilogy back in the day but finally 'got it' - and have been evangelising ever since. He's probably my most reread author but he's very much of the marmite variety - you either love him or hate him!!
